"Ada's ability to draw inspiration from different cultures along with her own adaptation creates some of the most incredible art. A session with her was so relaxing and so much fun! Her henna captured attention from the streets of Boston all the way down to my trip to New York City. I am so happy that we had the chance to work together and can't wait until we do so again!"

More on Henna:

Henna has been valued for centuries by numerous cultural groups to mark special occasions. It has been known to bring blessings, good luck and joy to those who adorn themselves with it.

To receive a henna design on ones body allows one to take a moment in their busy daily life to be still and quiet and to honor the beauty within oneself. A henna tattoo is a gift that acts as a temporary visual reminder of our own sacredness. It is thus, a celebration of life. As a henna artist, I am honored to participate in this ritual with those who choose to receive henna.

"Ada is an incredible henna artist! She has done several beautiful and intricate designs on my hands and feet, and I always receive compliments whenever she does my henna. Ada is such a talented artist, and will customize your design to fit just what you are looking for. She is also friendly and fun, and we have the best conversations while she is doing my henna. I highly recommend Henna by Ada!"

~A perfect gift for a pregnant mother~

"Ada is a fantastic person and artist. She brought positive and creative energy into our home and worked with me to create perfect Henna art for my belly. It took time, and she was thoughtful and sensitive to me needs (since I was 8 months pregnant and I needed breaks). She played beautiful music throughout the session. When she completed the Henna, she took gorgeous photos and invited my husband into the photo shoot! I really loved her and her work. You won't be disappointed!"

Henna Application and Aftercare:

-The henna paste (made up of powdered henna plant, lemon juice and essential oils) is applied directly to the skin.
-The paste will take approximately 20 minutes to dry to the touch during which one must be very careful not to smudge the design.
-Once dry, the paste will be left on the skin for at least a few more hours (7-8 is preferable). The longer the paste is left on, the darker the resulting henna stain will be. Keeping the area with the henna paste on it warm will aid in the staining process.
-The paste should then be flaked off. Avoid using water to do so. One can use an oil to assist in the process of removal if necessary.
-Once the paste is removed, the design will appear bright orange at first and will darken into a deep brownish-red within 24-48 hrs.
-The design will last between 1-2 weeks and will fade as the skin naturally exfoliates.
-One can apply lotion or oil to lengthen the life of the design.
